Oh, to Be a Fly on the Wall

August 13th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I wonder, did he drink milk with his hot lunch, could he even open his milk at lunch?

This morning began early like all other mornings by 07:15 in the AM and as always I was up at 6ish getting some of my cardio workout(s) along with my Bowflex session out of the way.

This morning my son was different, he didn’t call me to his room to play our “where is that guy” game with him lying hidden under the blankets then me lying on those blankets to “find” him. Instead he got up by himself and put his new baggy black skateboard jeans on with his green golf shirt, socks and his new Sketchers, then he headed down for a quick breakfast and off to school. His PM Kindergarten didn’t start till 10:40 this morning but he was ready to go now, 3 hours early. So in and outside he went, back and forth till 9 when I let him go to Sierras’ house to play.  I went to get him a 10:10 so we could ride our bikes to school and find a rack spot. Sierra had to give him a hug when he left (geez girls were his words) and with that done I got him to go to the bathroom and then strap his pack on for our 7 minute pedal.

On the way there on the bike path, I tried to snap a photo of him riding his bike as I followed behind but my newly recharged batteries were dead, oh no! Good thing I uploaded all my camera phone photos and was able to use it instead, but not while riding! You can see our morning on my 365. Anyway his little friend Brooke from our Baseball team who is in his class was sure glad to see him and made sure when they got inside his pack was next to hers. Her mom said she was also ready first thing this morning as we waited in the line of kids formed outside by the teacher assistants.

Once inside we had to go to the library where the vice principal welcomed both Kindergarten classes after the teachers did a bunch of micro organization of students and their belongings. After the welcoming us parents were invited to the boo hoo coffee meet and greet/weak mom support session in the cafeteria. There were no sniffles on my part as I explained to Brook’s mom that we had done day camp the last three weeks, so if anything, let’s go have a celebratory shot and a beer but instead I ducked out and commenced on a short bike ride, got home did 31 minutes more of cardio and more Bowflex before lunch.

Had lunch and commenced to inputting this and my 365. Time to bike to the grocery so I can restock my breakfast vitals.

A Big Day

August 12th, 2008 · No Comments

For my big star, his pseudo 1st (actually 2nd) day (actually night) of Kindergarten for a pajama party was started with a bike ride to school in his PJ’s.

In a 5 YO’s realm of reality, tomorrow is the first day of class from 10:40 To 3:20.

Photos on my 365!

Mr. Ingram the principal, gave a great reading of “Twas the Night Before Kindergarten.  Wish I had my IC recorder, the sounds were classic!

Tomorrow I will photo journal the whole go to school bit!

He’s a big star and I hope he goes far..
