This Stay at Home Dad does not know why I gave SunRocket top billing on this post after what they did to us, it just turned out that way when creating this.
Today’s Posting: I just got an e-mail from Andy, another Stay-at-Home Dad from the Midwest saying how he heard SunRocket ceased operations last night, I researched it a bit and found this link, at Money.com as well as called them and got an automated “We are no longer taking customer service or sales calls. Goodbye.”
Here is a little background on why Andy e-mailed me; you see we are both members of athomedad.org. I had been spouting off a couple years back what a great thing SunRocket was and Andy thought about switching his number to them but never got around to it and was curious to what I was going to do now that they folded.
Anyway, after having a dial tone on my VOIP would not connect through to the number when dialed; we started experiencing this last night it all makes sense now. We will go wireless only and see how this evolves through the courts and then decide if we need a landline at all, then do Comcast VOIP if she (my wife) still wants a telephone at home; as for me wireless rocks, as long as my battery holds up.
So if you need to get a hold of us we are wirelessly only at the moment!
While researching SunRocket I learned that Sprint is firing its own customers for calling customer service too much, I hope I am not fired! I have inadvertently called support numerous times because when I get in or out of my truck and I have my phone on my belt it gets bumped just right it dial Sprints automated support via the speaker phone feature so I know when it dials some of the time anyway. One word of advice to Sprint, do not put your customer support number on a hot key so at the push of a button you connect. If you did this, you probably wouldn’t get called so much.
Telecom nightmares and getting unconnected in a connected world!
