Being a Stay at Home Dad is one of the most difficult jobs I have ever had, but know what? With all the names, I am called, poopy but crack is my favorite, and general insanity involved with parenting a toddler who thinks he rules the world I still love it! I almost put a question mark there instead of an apostrophe and it seemed to fit; in my mind anyway, oh well let us move on.
In my sons eyes I am sure I meet the definition of badass all too often and hence I am a dadass. Let me say this in my defense. I am just trying to teach him on a daily basis the way you need to live your life so you can coexist peacefully, both at home and at play. Hence me being a Dadass!
In his world at preschool (soon to be private kindergarten), I am getting the feeling there is a group of boys, of which my son is a part of, likes to raise hell when around each other. This attitude bleeds home after school where I am all too sure the other parents are facing the same kind of four and five YO attitude. . Hence me being a Dadass!
I have said something to both the teacher and the co directors about what we are seeing at home and they do not seemed to be surprised at this behavior at all. I have pleaded with them to have talks, note plural, more than one, about how to be a big kids at home as well in going places. I have also asked them about talking to the kids about parental respect and you need to be nice at home as well. I know what you are saying, “but that’s mom and dad’s job” your right and I am continuing to work on this but when the words come from school they have a different meaning and are respected. . Hence me being a Dadass!
When we are mobile here at all the neighbors’ houses or at the pool, I am always hearing “he’s such a sweet boy” so I know he is capable of this behavior and it must be time to talk to the school directors again. I just wish his sweet boy behavior had started like yesterday here at home!
Life being Badass Dadass on the Toddler Front can be trying!
