The final game was complete and digitized for the web before the last round of Snow, posting the video was another thing. The Tan Man (in Red Hat) was a player gone wild in this game. Next up in three weeks, T-Ball, be sure to tune in here as we learn a new game! Oh yay!
In this At Home Dads opinion, the Little Tykes Soccer program is something every kid should get to do, but be sure to dress for Arctic conditions!

House Painted By…
May 12th, 2008 · 1 Comment
Snow today, eewww!
”But they are a group of kids.” “Say what?” “Not at my house you don’t”… These were the words going through the minds of the parents watching this in real time.
This past weekend at a Birthday Party for our cousin (my Nephew) Ryan was where we attended the neatest kids Birthday Party Theme. All the kids had on Home Depot aprons, packing a three-foot tape measure, just in case something needed measuring and a carpenters pencil to note it with. Once all the kids whose ages were between, oh about 3 ½ to 8 years old, gathered around 4 foot tall cardboard houses made by Uncle Kirk, armed with paintbrushes outside on Uncle Kirks and Aunt Susy’s year or two old backyard patio to paint the two houses. This sets the stage, view the video for the full effect of the event!
PS a great time was had by all! If you plan on doing something like this, good luck; it’s priceless!

Blue Thunder in Castle Rock

It was a scoring Bonanza for No. 4’s team, Blue Thunder. I am learning new movie software and this is my first try at using Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0, but so far it outperforms Windows Movie Maker. The software has a built in YouTube.com interface that makes publishing even more of a snap! Joeprah, thanks for the tip!

An At Home Dad Mental Health Moment
May 8th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Yes sir, it was an awesome thing. A great day to be alive for an At Home Dad; it happened as I crested one of many long hills in the neighborhood pulling the tag along with my mountain bike, it was warm, the sun was shining, did I say it was warm? Not by Cancun standards, heck even Milwaukee standards, but more like a Colorado April 50-degree warm with no wind and sunshine and I had my shorts on, got the picture?
The sky was blue but filling quickly with clouds, the scenery across the rolling hills from the high point on Mikleson, the road, after I had just dropped my son off at preschool was awesome. The trees were starting to leaf and the grass turning green. I wish I had my camera with me; the fresh white on Pikes Peak to the south at my nine o’clock was stunning with Mt. Evans at my 12:30 and Longs Peak at my 2:45 to the north, equally impressive. It was just one of those moments, when you knew; it was a great day to be alive where everything was just clicking perfect!
Where am I going with this? I’m not too sure… But after my morning thrashes of getting my son ready to ride to school, our school countdown (we still had to leave 15 minutes early because he just couldn’t wait), then to school to sit and watch the “big” kids line up to go to class and talk about Dakota getting to do that at his school a couple blocks away, in 5 months; I’m getting to the point I think. it’s a long story about his preschool teacher hate last fall and waiting for a spot to open up when we finally got a spot after the Christmas break at the “other” school. It’s in my Blog archive somewhere.
I guess I just need to say I had one of those solitary At Home Dad moments where I could really enjoy my bike ride (even though I was still pulling 30 pounds of now dead weight) and not think about anything because he was taken care of in school.
I just had an afterthought, I could have snapped photos with my camera phone, oh well. I was there and you weren’t! Take my word for the, in my kids word, awesomeness!

I Am So There!

Traveling aboard the Geena Davis sounds like, well, maybe, a beach vacation in the MidWest for me and my son! This At Home Dad is so there. NOT!
